What is the Polk County Memorial Honor Guard?

The Polk County Memorial Honor Guard is a not-for-profit organization. We rely solely on the generosity of those who believe that every Veteran should be buried with dignity and honor. The Polk County Memorial Honor Guard, a subsidiary to the American Legion Post 250 and the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Post 9116, is a tax exempt, 501C-19 organization and therefore all donations to the Honor Guard are tax deductible.

What do we do?

In addition to providing Military Funeral Honors, Honor Guard Members participate in ceremonies honoring Memorial Day, Fourth of July, 9-11, and Veterans day. We also conduct Flag Disposal Ceremonies, participate in local parades and Present the Colors during opening ceremonies at local events.
