Welcome Home Party for Middle East Veterans.

The Landrum, SC, VFW welcome home party to honor a number of local Vets returning from the Iraq war.

After the laying of the wreath, prayers and general announcements - lunch was on.

The VFW Ladies Auxiliary provided a fabulous meal.  BBQ Chicken, Hot Dogs and Real Thick Hamburgers, the good kind that grandmother made!  Fiery Hot Pork and Beans (I do mean Hot HOT) plus potato salad, and the usual cold slaw.  Desert was a wonderful collage of cakes and pies.

We are saddened to have lost one or our soldiers to the enemy.  We honored him and his family with a presentation of a keepsake bible placed in a finally crafted cedar keepsake box.

After that, we honored those returning from the Iraq War.  The peanut count guess was 6 off.  Bingo was played for about 1 hours with lots of nice prizes, plus we had a good game of horse shoes going for a while.

Last but not least came the 50/50 drawing.  Then the drawing for the door prizes.

Lastly was the Prayer and good byes were said.
